The jury found Daniel Valusaga not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the first day of the trial, but the Crown did not accept the plea.During the trial, prosecutor Belinda Merrin told the court Valusaga, alongside his brother Leon who had armed himself with an axe, went back to the party and chased Leon's attacker. When they couldn't catch the attacker, Ms Merrin said they turned on another male at the party.Ms Merrin said Mr Latu tried to break up the fight by punching Valusaga, and it was then that Valusaga delivered the fatal wound.
