kris kristofferson

KRIS IS FINISHED . HE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH AAS AN ARTIST NOW. HE IS GIVING UP HIS GRACE AND CREATIVITY.......

kRIS PLAYED OUT OF TUNE.

As a guitarist, Kris Kristofferson has no grace. He plays out of tune, he sticks to the barest handful of keys and he stumbles through simple chord progressions.

As a singer, he doesn't have much more. His voice is as craggy as his 72-year-old face, and his ability to hit the notes he's aiming for varies from day to day.
As a songwriter, though, he has no peer.
And as a spirit, well, as a spirit, he simply soars.
Kristofferson entranced a healthy house of fans at The Egg Saturday night, rolling out one staggering, absolutely classic song after another.
He didn't really finish any of the songs. He just stopped — often midchord — and said "Thank you" as he cracked a beaming smile.
But those little tics and foibles didn't bother anyone, they just added to the charm.
When Kristofferson finally broke Nashville in the early '70s, after half a decade of struggling and sweeping floors, he did it with songs that married simple yet sturdy melodies with literate, emotionally searing lyrics.
If Hank Williams had lived long enough, he might have written "For The Good Times," "Help Me Make It Through The Night" or "Me and Bobby McGee." But he didn't, so Kristofferson had to write them instead.

preeclampsia

preeclampsia IS KILLER ... COME AND GET KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE REAL FACTS....

Preeclampsia, affecting around 5-8% of all pregnancies in the US, annually, is the main etiological factor for both maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Previous researches have demonstrated that in contrast to natural conception, women opting for IVF are at an increased risk of developing preeclampsia. A recent study has suggested that the incidence of preeclampsia is higher in IVF-conceived pregnancies; however, no significant association was noted with intrauterine insemination and ovulation induction. The findings of the current study, which corroborated with the earlier results, are published in the journal Hypertension in Pregnancy.

"Survivor's" very own basketbrawl ended with the Jalapao tribe winning immunity and sending Brendan off to Exile Island. He was able to take an opposing team member with him, choosing Taj George, whose big secret - that she's married to former NFL player Eddie George - is out and has left her feeling uneasy.
At the tribal council, Candace was taken by surprise and voted off the island. Sierra lives to see another week.

Arkansas is 13-10 overall and 1-9 in the Southeastern Conference while LSU is 21-4 overall and 9-1 with nine straight conference wins. Head coach John Pelphrey met with the media to discuss the game on Monday. Following is a partial transcript of his press conference.
"This is a big game for us. LSU is in first overall in the SEC and they are playing better than anybody in our league. They are the only team (the SEC) has ranked (No. 24). I like their team a lot. They are very well-coached and efficient. They get scoring from four or five spots, and they defend and rebound in a big-time way. Any time you have more assists than turnovers, you'll have a chance to win.

chatter among the local running community has long held out hope for a Syracuse marathon, a race that traverses 26.2 miles of Onondaga County’s hills and dales. That doesn’t appear likely any time soon since the local race calendar has already filled up with few open weekends to spare. But don’t despair; that wealth of weekend warriorship got the Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs thinking that a new race series might be in order. So with a partnership linking Parks with Fleet Feet Sports and The New Times, five races are now under the Syrathon 2009 banner. And the funny thing is, when totaled, they add up to 26.1 miles.
“This series really encourages people to get running and go to all the different neighborhoods for the races,” says Sue Straub, the race director of the final event in the series, the five-mile Eastwood Park-to-Park Autumn Run. “If you do them all, you’ve done a marathon, just about. That was a surprise to find out it’s just over 26 miles.”

american idol wild card

WILD CARD A WILD THING......

the American viewing audience (and anyone else picking it up overseas and elsewhere) got its first chance to send some people packing. American Idol changed the way it does things again this year, not counting the addition of Kara DioGuardi. To get to the Final 12, you must get through the Top 36. This is being done in a two-part process for Season 8. First, the audience votes forward three of the 12 on a given night. Those three become part of the Final 12 contestants. Since playing along gets you to nine contestants, where do the last three come from? The second part of the process is a wild card phase. Of those 27 not chosen to move forward on the three elimination rounds, the judges choose from those eliminated to be "wild cards," and they and the number four top vote receivers of the three previously aired elimination rounds will "sing for their lives," so to speak. The top three "wild cards" will be chosen by the judges, not the public, and will move forward into the Final 12

ny post cartoon

NY Post cartoon to link Obama to dead chimp

The New York Post is standing behind a cartoon that some have interpreted as comparing President Barack Obama to a violent chimpanzee gunned down by police. The cartoon in Wednesday's Post by Sean Delonas shows two police officers standing over the body of a bullet-riddled chimp. One of the officers says the other, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."
Civil rights activist Al Sharpton called the cartoon "troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys."
But Sharpton said the Post should clarify the point it was trying to make with the cartoon, which was playing off Monday's rampage by a pet chimpanzee in Stamford, Conn., that left a woman severely mauled. Police ended up killing the chimp.

Scratch Salmons Eliminated from tour:

According to many reports, including the Sacramento Bee which apparently had it first, John Salmons and Brad Miller are headed to Chicago for a collection of cheaper players headlined by Andres Nocioni. It was last week that Miller sat at American Airlines Center and we chatted about the possibility of him landing in Dallas. He said he was hopeful. But more than anything, the 7-foot center was eager to leave Sacramento for anywhere, so much so that he canceled a trip he had planned to Hawaii. He didn't want to be more than an hour away from Sacramento, so he rescheduled the vacation to San Diego. As it turned out, he could have done the islands.

siohvaughn wade

Wade 's estranged wife : reality of publicity stunt........???????/

MIAMI (AP) — Dwyane Wade sued his estranged wife and two of her lawyers Wednesday over accusations the Miami Heat star contracted a sexually transmitted disease through an extramarital affair.
In the lawsuit, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, Wade is seeking at least $50,000 in damages from each defendant.
Siohvaughn Wade said last month the player infected her with an unspecified disease in 2007. Weeks later, she withdrew the claim from the court hearing the divorce case for unknown reasons.
That wasn't enough to satisfy the 2006 NBA finals MVP, who said her allegations not only defamed him, but caused "embarrassment" and "humiliation" along with damaging future earning potential.

Kylie Minogue accused of cosmetic surgery

ANOTHET PLASTIC SURGERY:::::::::::

AUSTRALIAN pop singer Kylie Minogue is the latest star to raise eyebrows after recent photos prompted speculation she has had cosmetic surgery, The Daily Telegraph reported. The latest edition of the UK's Grazia magazine asks on its cover: "What has Kylie done to her face?" It scrutinises the star's "peculiar appearance" at this month's BAFTA film awards. Cosmetic surgeon Dr Alex Karidis tells the magazine: "Kylie's brows look a little higher than usual, which suggests she's having regular Botox to lift them. "One of Kylie's brows is slightly more arched and higher than the other, which is often a telltale sign." There were also signs the Australian star, 40, may have had further work on her cheeks and lips, the surgeon says.

Marchers block Mexico-US border

Marchers block Mexico-US border:

Hundreds of people in Mexico have blocked key crossings into the US in protests against the deployment of the army fighting drug traffickers.
Traffic was brought to a halt on a number of bridges in several border towns in northern Mexico.
The protesters accused the army of abuse against civilians. Government officials said the blockades had been organised by drug gangs.
The army was sent into border towns in 2006 to control rising drug violence.
More than 5,000 people were killed in drug-related violence last year, Mexican officials say.
Violence continued on Tuesday in the border town of Ciudad Juarez where three police officers were shot dead by unidentified gunmen.
Powerful drug cartels have been fighting both each other and federal forces as they battle to control the immensely lucrative routes trafficking cocaine and other drugs from Colombia to the US via Mexico.
Up to 40,000 troops are currently deployed against trafficking cartels.
In some parts of the country, the army has taken over the role of the police, which have often proved easily corrupted when bribed or threatened by the gangs, says the BBC's Stephen Gibbs in Mexico City.

"20,000 people from over 180 countries have so far applied for the role of Caretaker of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef in what has become arguably the most talked-about job vacancy in the world."The promotion gained worldwide attention when it launched in January, offering a six-month gig in which the successful applicant will live in a luxury Hamilton Island villa, explore the reef, its islands and wildlife, swim, snorkel and blog about it.

Train station bans kissing

Warrington Bank Quay's station is: "No kissing, we're British.

IT must have been one of Britain's most passionate places but now the rule in Warrington Bank Quay's station is: "No kissing, we're British."
No-kissing signs were put up at the station's taxi and drop-off zone designated for rail travellers, as outbreaks of passion appeared to threaten the punctuality of traffic at the station operated by – yes – Virgin Rail.
The company declared the signs were "a light-hearted way" of encouraging travellers not to clog the often crowded station located on the rail lines between London and Glasgow as well as Birmingham and Scotland.

braddy bunch

braddy bunch 's story.........

In 1965, following the success of his TV series Gilligan's Island, Sherwood Schwartz conceived the idea for The Brady Bunch after reading an article in the Los Angeles Times that said "40% of marriages [in the United States] had a child or children from [a] previous marriage." He instantly set to work on a pilot script, called Yours and Mine, and passed it around the "big three" television networks of the era. ABC, CBS and NBC all loved the script, but each network wanted changes to it before they would commit to filming it. Schwartz felt that his script was perfect, and although he had the interest of all three networks in America, he decided to shelve it.[1]
Despite the similarities between the series and the 1968 theatrical release Yours, Mine and Ours starring Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball, the original script for The Brady Bunch pre-dated the script for the film. However, the success of the film was likely a factor in ABC's decision to order episodes for the series.

Senior bowler Dave Zarrelli had a career night while bowling in the Thursday Knights of St John's league at North Coast Shoreway Lanes. The 60 year old Zarrelli, who bowls as an alternate and averages 186, started his night out with an over average game of 194. He missed a 7-pin for his only open of the evening. That was only the beginning of great things to come.Dave followed his 194 game with games of 298 and 300, for a career high 792 series! Zarrelli has been bowling on and off for about 29 years. He started his career bowling in a league in the 70's at Bay Lanes in Bay Village, however, it has been only the last 6 years that he has taken the game more seriously. Most of his career has been spent open bowling with his family. His previous league or tournament high game and series (his only other 700 series) was a 287-728 that he bowled in the Elks Lodge league six years ago. The fellow bowlers in the Knights of St. John's league were amazed at the composure Dave exhibited during the two games. Having not had the experience of rolling the first 11 strikes, Dave sent the twelfth ball of the 298 game a little wide leaving the 5-7 split. He could have carried that shot according to several of the onlookers. An opposing team member mentioned how cool and composed he was following the 298. Normally, it takes a while to "come down" after shooting a big score. However, Dave started the next game off with the first 11 strikes. The twelfth ball in the 300 game was a "no doubter" to end his evening in perfection.

real housewives of new york

THE REAL STORIES ONLY ON JUICYONES...

BOTTOM LINE T

he whole "Real Housewives" brand has been a cult favorite among real housewives, both those who stay at home and those who work outside the house. Whether it's New York City, Orange County or Atlanta, the shows speak a language most have understood since girlhood - how women relate. Oftentimes on these shows, it's pretty badly. This is not to say the Big Apple's cast won't endear itself to fans again. Watch for Frankel's hysterical impression of new BFF Jill Zarin (a wig and tiny dog are involved); Alex McCord's smarts at defusing a public relations disaster for husband Simon van Kempen; Zarin's ability to apologize for said public relations disaster; Ramona Singer's skill at keeping romance alive in her marriage; and newbie Bensimon's thoughtfulness about discussing her life, however more luxurious it might be than that of most single moms

MOTHER WHO IS ALSO A TV CRITIC:

OK, OK, maybe that last is an indication that having a mother who is also a TV critic is not without consequences. But being on the backside of 10 and 8, my two older children are part of the post-"High School Musical" generation, and I have to say I agree with them on pretty much every point. Everyone is going to call "Spectacular!" Nickelodeon's answer to the Disney franchise, and in a way it is. But the success of "HSM," "Camp Rock" and, to a certain extent, "Hannah Montana," the Jonas Brothers and even Nick's own "The Naked Brothers Band" simply marks a return of the old-fashioned, small-town musical that once ruled the big screen. You know, the ones in which a girl and a guy (often played by Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney) saved something or other by puttin' on a show. Salvation through music, good hoofing and communal effort. In "Spectacular's" case, the things that need saving are Nikko's nascent music career and his self-esteem -- he's been kicked out of his band and dumped by his girlfriend -- and

madea s family reunion

Her arrival to lockup and to the multiplex is likely to be met with avid fan fondess and critical trepidation

Were this a bit of Tyler Perry- penned dialogue it might go like this:
Oh no she didn't. Oh yes she did. Oh no she isn't. Oh yes she is.
Come Friday, Perry's big, brassy, faux black grandma heads to the big house. And we don't mean Big Momma's house; that's a different faux black woman portrayed by a different performer.
Yes, Madea is headed to the slammer, the joint, the cooler in "Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail." And her arrival to lockup and to the multiplex is likely to be met with avid fan fondess and critical trepidation.
As popular images go, Madea (and the writer-director-actor's success with his bold creation) tends to vex folk schooled in spotting stereotypes, caricatures, buffoons.
One prominent African-American film director calls Perry's representations of black life the new, old version of blackface — a modern- day minstrel show. Ouch. Others take a more charitable view, still tinged with ambivalence.
Take, for instance, a snowy-night gathering of the Tattered Cover's race-dialogue group at the United Methodist Church in Park Hill. This month's challenge: the vertigo-inducing tango of popular culture and images.
"The thing that has frustrated me so much in our movies these days is black men playing oversized black women," said a soft-spoken member.
"By the time Eddie Murphy came out with 'Norbit,' I was ready to break the theater down.

But one thing I think is that there has been this presence that has been very influential in his life — African-American women that have been strong, positive and quite humorous.

nuclear sea of fire

British, French nuclear submarines collide in Atlantic:::::

LONDON (AP) — Nuclear submarines from Britain and France collided deep in the Atlantic Ocean this month, authorities said Monday in the first acknowledgment of a highly unusual accident that one expert called the gravest in nearly a decade.
Officials said the low-speed crash did not damage the vessels' nuclear reactors or missiles or cause radiation to leak. But anti-nuclear groups said it was still a frightening reminder of the risks posed by submarines prowling the oceans powered by radioactive material and bristling with nuclear weapons.
The first public indication of a mishap came when France reported in a little-noticed Feb. 6 statement that one of its submarine had struck a submerged object — perhaps a shipping container. But confirmation of the accident only came after British media reported it.
France's defense ministry said Monday that the sub Le Triomphant and the HMS Vanguard, the oldest vessel in Britain's nuclear-armed submarine fleet, were on routine patrol when they collided in the Atlantic this month. It did not say exactly when, where or how the accident occurred.
France said that Le Triomphant suffered damage to a sonar dome — where navigation and detection equipment is stored — and limped home to its base on L'Ile Longue on France's western tip. HMS Vanguard returned to a submarine base in Scotland with visible dents and scrapes, the BBC reported.
"The two submarines came into contact at very low speed," Britain's First Sea Lord, Admiral Jonathon Band, said. Band, Britain's most senior naval officer, offered no further explanation.

spectacular

'Spectacular!' on Nickelodeon

few random observations on Nickelodeon’s “Spectacular!" made by two experts in the genre:"It's got really good songs. Like real songs, that you hear on the radio."

"That girl who plays Courtney [Tammin Sursok] is way better than Vanessa Hudgens because she's pretty and she can act.""It is totally better than 'Camp Rock.' ""Why do they always have to have a mean pretty girl in these movies?""The guy who plays Nikko [Nolan Gerard Funk] seems cooler than Troy, but I still think Zac Efron will do better in his career."OK, OK, maybe that last is an indication that having a mother who is also a TV critic is not without consequences.

ENGLAND AGAINST ITLY..............

England are going absolutely nowhere. That was evident on the performance against Italy. Irrespective of what I now call the Mallet incident after he played flanker Mauro Bergamasco at scrum-half in what I think was the worst Italy team I have seen in ten years.
They gifted England two tries and England had to work for absolutely nothing. In the second half they just did absolutely nothing. It is the same problem that we saw in the autumn.
There is absolutely no development and I have no idea where the coaching staff of Wells, Ford and Smith are going with this team.
It is scandalous really especially with the ridiculous price of tickets - they charge so much for entertainment that is so low.
That performance against Italy was inexcusable; England did not try anything and did not play any rugby. I think it was shame that Steffon Armitage was substituted by Joe Worsley - Armitage had no rucks to hit and was not given any pattern to play with whatsoever.

O'Neal partied his way back onto the All-Star stage with 17 points in 11 minutes

Shaq danced, Kobe dazzled. And just like the good old days, they won again.
Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 27 points and Shaquille O'Neal partied his way back onto the All-Star stage with 17 points in 11 minutes, as the Western Conference beat the East 146-119 Sunday.
"It felt like old times," O'Neal said. "I miss those times. (Bryant) was really looking for me, especially when we went to a pick-and-roll and they had Rashard Lewis on me."
Back on the same team for the first time in nearly five years, the duo shared the game MVP award. They helped the West get untracked after an awful start, then teamed up for a few baskets that helped blow it open in the third quarter.
"I tell you what, those two guys together, that's a deadly combination as we all saw tonight and we have all seen in the past," said East Coach Mike Brown, who guides the Cleveland Cavaliers. "They are where they are right now, but if they were to stay together, no telling how many more rings they would have had on their fingers and toes."
And they did it in the ways that made them so different — Bryant with his cold-as-ice focus, O'Neal as the oversized clown who made fans and foes alike laugh.
O'Neal is now complimentary of Bryant, calling him the best player in the NBA. Bryant still seems uncomfortable talking about his relationship with O'Neal.

CHUCK NORRIS STORY ONLY ON JUICYONES....

A roadside electronic message board was tampered with on Monday by an unknown person and displayed "Chuck Norris for President" for several hours before it was fixed.
The Chico Enterprise Record newspaper reported Tuesday that the sign was alongside a road in Chico, a city north of Sacramento, Calif., in Butte County. It's known by many as the home of California State University, Chico.
In the article, a city public works supervisor said the unidentified culprit changed the message after breaking a lock behind the sign. Eventually highway workers changed it back to its proper message, "Lane Shift Ahead."

Kindle 2

KINDLE 2 is against the Law

It was hardly the most interesting or earth-shaking part of Jeff Bezos's introduction of the Kindle 2 on Monday, but one small, experimental feature in the device is already causing a minor uproar. Specifically: The Kindle 2's text-to-speech function, which will use a computerized voice to read aloud anything displayed on the device's screen. The problem? The Authors Guild says that that's against the law.
The challenge revolves around audiobooks, which are treated separately from printed material from a copyright standpoint. A retailer can't record a copy of a book on a CD and sell it or bundle it along with a novel without paying a separate fee, just as buying a copy of an audiobook doesn't entitle you to a free copy of the printed version.

plane crash in NY

CLARENCE, N.Y. – A commuter plane crashed into a suburban Buffalo home and erupted in flames late Thursday, killing all 48 people aboard and one person on the ground, authorities said.

Flames silhouetted the shattered home after Continental Connection Flight 3407 plummeted into it around 10:20 p.m.

"The whole sky was lit up orange," said Bob Dworak, who lives less than a mile from the crash site. "All the sudden, there was a big bang, and the house shook."

The 74-seat Q400 Bombardier aircraft, operated by Colgan Air, was flying from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Buffalo Niagara International Airport in light snow, fog and 17 mph winds.

Dworak said while residents of his neighborhood about 10 miles from the Buffalo airport were used to planes rumbling overhead, but this one sounded louder than usual, sputtered and made some odd noises. After hearing the crash, he drove over to take a look, and "all we were seeing was 50 to 100 foot flames and a pile of rubble on the ground. It looked like the house just got destroyed the instant it got hit," he said.

lincoln s birthday

lINCON'S BIRTH DAY CELEBRATIONS:::::::::::::::::::::::

February 12th marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of an extraordinary American: Abraham Lincoln. Born on the frontier in an isolated log cabin, Lincoln experienced profound hardships during early his life. Although he had few opportunities for formal education, he loved books and learning. A self taught man, he moved away from his family’s farm to become a gentleman lawyer and political leader. He was often under estimated. Critics viewed him as a simple-minded backwoodsman who was unqualified for the demands of high office.

The nation was divided on the day that Abraham Lincoln assumed the presidency. The Civil War was a dark cloud threatening the future of the Union. Despite his humble beginnings, Lincoln rose to meet each challenge. One of his most significant actions was to draft the Emancipation Proclamation which changed the course of our American history and culture. Sadly, this man who even today continues to inspire our nation died on April 15, 1865 as a result of an assassin’s bullet

sat scores

Origional story for students ... do come back again...

Students registered for the SAT in March will have an option no other previous test-takers have had: they’ll get to send only their best scores to colleges next fall. Called Score Choice, the new reporting method doesn’t allow mixing and matching from test sittings, but students will be able to choose which sitting(s) they want college admissions officers to see.

WIN EXCITING PRIZES : CLICK ON SIDE ADS

The College Board’s rationale is that Score Choice will reduce test anxiety. Critics say it won’t really help students, because it will result in a new level of gamesmanship in a process already jammed with such tactics. They sound like the College Board itself, which reported in 2002 when it stopped offering Score Choice for its subject tests that “it encouraged ‘gamesmanship’ and appeared to favor wealthy students with access to guidance counselors who know how to maneuver the system.”
Score Choice could also significantly increase revenue for the College Board as is encourages students to take the test many times. But not every student can afford to do that. Score Choice will benefit the wealthier students who can plunk down $45. for each SAT registration. Ironically, this another reason the College Board gave in 2002. According to the New York Times, they went on the record then saying “ending Score Choice would be fairer to low-income and minority students, who did not have the resources to keep retaking the tests.”
Here’s another possibility: the SAT’s only rival, the ACT, has since its inception in 1958 allowed students to choose the scores they report. As the number of students taking the rival test increases, the College Board may have made the change to stay competitive.

And along with achieving worldwide attention and even becoming adored on Facebook, Sam today managed something very rare - earning an apology from US gossip website TMZ.
In a post about Mr Tree giving his water bottle to the koala he found stumbling through burnt out bushland in the Victoria fires, TMZ.com wrote: “After battling some of the worst wildfires ever to hit Australia, a firefighter shared his bottled water with a pampered koala on Monday. Afterwards the new friends went to Pilates and dined on sushi.” Many readers hit out at the article, “Koala to Firefighter: I Won't Tap That!”, saying it was an unnecessary and insensitive shot at Victoria’s firefighters and the victims of the fire.

Two goals from Osael Romero in the 79th and 90th minutes earned the draw for the hosts after Trinidad and Tobago took a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Carlos Edwards opened the scoring for the visitors in the seventh minute, firing a shot from outside the area that eluded goalkeeper Juan Jose Gomez. Veteran Dwight Yorke doubled the margin in the 27th, converting a penalty resulting from Luis Hernandez's foul on Stern John.
El Salvador's attempts to pull back were frustrated by Trinidad keeper Clayton Ince until 11 minutes from time when Romero scored with a free-kick from just outside the area. Romero stamped himself the hero for the hosts with his equaliser in injury time.
The six-nation final round of qualifying for the region also includes the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras. The top three teams from the competition will advance directly to the FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, while the fourth will play off for a berth against a team from South America.

bill o reilly

bill o reilly COMMENTS ON nadya....

The stunning announcement that a California woman had given birth to octuplets was greeted warmly in some circles. The birthing doctors were all smiles, and the media hyped the "human interest" part of the story. Eight babies! Wow!
But behind the high-fives lies a very troubling situation. This may be child abuse at the highest level.
Here are the facts: The mother, Nadya Suleman, is a 33-year-old single mom already raising six young children in the small home of her parents. Nadya is a health care worker who, according to her mother, became pregnant with all the children through in vitro fertilization.
Six was not enough for Nadya, so last spring she allowed multiple embryos to be implanted in her womb. Subsequently, the octuplets were born on Jan. 26.
In Great Britain, Nadya and her doctor would be under arrest. There, the law permits only two embryo implants at a time. But in California, there are no rules at all. Fertility clinics and the doctors who make big money in them can do anything they want.
So now Nadya has eight new babies, all of whom weigh less than 3 pounds. The littlest is about a pound and a half. Doctors say there is a strong likelihood that some, if not all, of the children will experience significant health problems growing up.
When the babies finally leave the hospital in suburban Los Angeles, they will be taken to a three-bedroom house in Whittier, Calif. Seventeen human beings will be living in that house. Eight babies will have to be fed, washed and cared for around the clock almost simultaneously.
Who will pay for that? Chances are, the taxpayers. Nadya has little money and her parents have filed for bankruptcy. By the way, the hospital bill for the octuplets and mom is estimated to be around $1.3 million.
But Nadya seems to have a plan. She has hired a "spokesperson," a woman named Joann Killeen. Killeen has been running around various TV shows telling the world what a great person and mother Nadya is, what a joy to be around she is. When asked whether the mother of the year wants major money to tell her story, Killeen dodges and weaves.
This is child abuse of the worst kind and few seem to care. The taxpayers will wind up paying for much of Nadya's irresponsibility, and the 14 children will pay an enormous price, just wait and see.
Meantime, a callous media and a largely apathetic state medical system will watch to see whether it will be Oprah, Barbara or Katie who will give the babies their first starring TV roles.
America is a great country. This is the worst of it.

stephen fowler

Wana know thw full story of STEPHEN FOWLER... ITS ONLY HERE..........................

It's 2009, the end of a decade which -- when it comes to television -- was defined in large part by reality shows. By now, most of us reality fans have become a bit jaded. Backstabbing, catfights, rants, breakdowns - there's just not much shock value left anymore. So after Valleywag ran this story about public reaction to one man's behavior on (of all shows) "Wife Swap" a few weeks ago, it got me thinking about how this particular guy had disturbed and outraged so many people.

If you've never seen the show, it's a basic enough concept. Two women, usually from very different families and very different parts of the country, trade places and move in with each other's husbands and children for two weeks. The housewife swaps with the career woman. The mom of a sports-obsessed family moves in with a brood of bookworms. The hour is often filled with plenty of head-butting, but usually everyone goes back to the farm/penthouse/commune/mansion richer for the experience.

On the January 30th episode Gayla Long, a Missouri wife and mother of four whose family loves fast food, ATVs and paintball, swapped lives with life coach and weight-loss hypnotherapist Renee Stephens who lives in a tony San Francisco neighborhood, spends $40,000 a year to send her two young children to a French bilingual private school, and, along with her husband, is die-hard about environmental issues and staying healthy. Obviously, this wasn't going to be a match made in heaven, but things took an unexpectedly bad turn when Renee's British venture capitalist husband, Stephen Fowler, began acting downright cruel to Gayla. He continually humiliated her in front of his kids, insulted everything from her hometown to her language skills, told her he earns more in a week than she does in a year and even banned her from setting foot upstairs. One of the "Wife Swap" gimmicks is letting the wives implement new rules for their new homes (Renee, for example, put a moratorium on paintball and set up family French lessons), but bratty Stephen refused everything Gayla suggested, like letting the children ride go-carts and getting the family to sing the national anthem. After launching multiple attacks of verbal abuse against Gayla, it was Stephen who called in the show's producers to try to end the swap, eventually causing his temporary wife to move to a hotel.

Guess what? Viewers didn't like it. They blasted Fowler on all kinds of web sites, message boards, and blogs. He's been labeled the worst husband in the world and someone even posted his home address on a reality TV site, prompting an email threatening a lawsuit. Yet another angered viewer launched a blog called stephenfowlersucks.com, which itemizes everyone Fowler insulted during the episode. (Overweight people and military members topped the list.)

So back to that question of why this guy struck such a nerve with so many of us when we've surely seen similar or worse behavior on TV multiple times over. Maybe it's because his cruelty was so uncalled for. We reality viewers may be used to seeing people resort to bad behavior when, say, they're competing for a million-dollar prize or for the love of a big-haired '80s rocker, but just for the sheer joy of being as mean as possible and making someone feel horrible? Well, that's just taking it too far. In the end, it sounds like Stephen Fowler did indeed learn a few lessons, albeit after the cameras stopped rolling. He posted an apology on his wife's web site (editor's note: the site http://renee.personallifemedia.com now appears to be offline), and according to apologies she posted on her website, she's asked him to seek professional help. He has also reportedly resigned from the boards of two environmental non-profits so, he says, his behavior won't reflect badly on them. As for Gayla, she's probably thrilled to be done with her nightmarish foray into reality TV, and I'm certain she didn't leave her heart in San Francisco.

Julio Osegueda

Julio Osegueda becomes celebrity.

It was quite a moment at the end of President Obama's town hall meeting in Fort Myers, Fla., yesterday. As The News-Press writes, 19-year-old Julio Osegueda "rocketed from a Cape Coral teenager who flips burgers for $7.85 an hour at a McDonald's to an instant celebrity of sorts."
And he got a temporary job.
For those who didn't see what happened at the town hall when Osegueda asked the president about when he and other low-wage workers might be able to get job benefits

"Pray Out Loud"

Last month, when Jessica Simpson put on a few pounds, the Web went absolutely wild. A stampede of folks sought out pictures. Bloggers wondered why the formerly svelte starlet was rocking a curvier figure. And friends and relatives rushed to her defense, calling "weight-gate" a ridiculous farce. Now, just as the hubbub was dying down, Jessica has spoken out.
Well, kind of. On CBS's "Early Show," Jessica performed her new single "Pray Out Loud" and answered a few "delicately asked" questions from interviewer Maggie Rodriguez. Simpson said that she appreciates the support she has received from fans and that "everything's really great." In other words, she's happy with the way she looks, and she's in no danger of having a Britney-like breakdown anytime soon.
Fair enough, but what about her trainwreck of a performance last week when she opened for Rascal Flatts? Jessica flubbed lines, forgot lyrics, and "fought back tears." A loyal rep says the crooner simply had an "off night" and, because she's a perfectionist, she "wanted to start some of the songs over."

Kerr looked ill....

Kerr himself looked a bit frail (there have been reports of recently failing health) but did manage to speak at the end, culminating a celebration of his career that featured speakers like David Stern, Dolph Shayes, Jerry Colangelo, Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan, and John Paxson.

I believe I can officially call him 'embattled' GM John Paxson (at least with the public), as he received some jeers before speaking. There was also a surprise video message from President Obama. Though even that announcement took a back seat in terms of applause for the ovations (and flashing cameras) that Pippen and Jordan received. I thought both did a great job with their speeches: short, genuine, deferential, and appreciative of an original Chicago Bull.
